A Dream has come True!!!

January 15, 2024

Once I was finally awarded 100%P&T by the VA I was given enough backpay to pay off 2/3 of out bills that have been accumulating over the past 2 1/2 years. This increase my credit score drastically. We were basically forced to live on what my wife made and credit cards until my social security and VA Claim(s) were approved so we went about a year or more with me having $0 income. That's tough going from having an $80k/year job to nothing overnight. Well, with the backpay and my VA disability increase we are doing much better.

Well, I have been looking at new trucks for years. We looked at our credit scores and they were pretty good. Ange told me to call a dealer in Charleston (Moses Chevrolet) to see what they could do for us. Afterall, we have one vehicle with high miles and my daughter's car with high miles. Everytime a vehicle breaks down we have to borrow a vehicle from mawmaw or my son. Well, The dealer texted me the link to the credit app. I filled it out and within 5 minutes we were approved!!! I gave him the stock number of the truck...

I am FINALLY a 100% Permanent & Total Disabled Veteran!!!

December 26, 2023

We expected to receive word from the VA in about two months after my C&P Exam for disability. Less than 2 weeks I have been informed I was finally approved!!! The doctor that did my C&P Exam said there is not reason that I should have been denied the first time. I thank everyone for thier prayers in this 2 year long process. Now I have additional benefits to apply for.. disabled veteran plates, free fishing and hunting license, Free pass to federal parks, education benefits for my wife and daughter and the list keeps growing. For those who are currently seeking benefits from the VA, check out the links on my page. Today we also took a trip to the Air NG base in Charleston to get our new ID cards!!!

Today I started my part time job...

October 31, 2023

I finally got to start my part time job from home. I am working from home as a 1099 contractor for Working Solutions, LLC. It is a call center position but I love it. I am enrolling federal employees/retirees/Military retirees in dental and vision benefits. We have very few mean or upset customers so far. This is short term contract. I can set my own hours. By the time I am done after 4 hours my lungs are burning but I'm ok. I just stay on my oxygen all night as usual.

I finally found a Job or 2!!!

October 12, 2023

I'm excited!!! After 2 years of recovery I still won't be able to hold a regular job due to oxygen issues..BUT I found several work at home positions. I start one of them tomorrow!!!! I can't wait. The first job is a job dealing with federal benefits for federal emplyees and federal retirees thru a company called Working Solutions updating thier benefit packages. This one is a short term gig (about 3 months). The second one I am signed up for is thru a company called NexRep subcontracted to Teledoc adding amd verifying information before patients are transferred to a doctor virtually. I start this one in November. I am also setup with intuit for tech support. I don't know if I will keep this one due the company it is subcontracted thru but I may be able to contract with intuit directly or thru another subcontactor.

There are several more opportunities I could have signed up with but we have a trip to "The Ark" in Kentucky the 2nd week in Nov and unfortunately that's when the training for most of them start. There is alot of info in these training sessions so if you can't make a day...
